Prevention is the Best Protection
As
safety management professionals offering impartial and independent legal advice,
IEW consultants work with a wide range of clients from large chambers, law firms and organisations providing all sorts of indoor and outdoor activities to insurance companies and individuals that suffered an injury or accident.
IEW experts collaborate closely with each client focusing on the legal consequences of sporting and outdoor activities, the personal physical and mental costs of accidents, but also on the lessons that can be learned from each situation.
Learning from accidents and even more so learning from near misses or unusual consequences is a very important part of the legal aid provided by our Expert Witnesses.
A safe system must have within it: safe people, a safe place, safe equipment, and the practices must be in accordance with good practice that is reasonable to offer.
With each injury case the Expert Witness plays two essential roles:
- One as an accident investigator offering professional impartial and independent advice and qualified expert opinion to support the legal process of resolving cases of accidents and injury;
- One as an expert adviser evaluating the action after the event happened and providing advice to prevent future similar accidents.
The feed-back provided by our Expert Witnesses when involved in a legal case is paramount not only because of their qualified expert opinion, but also for the invaluable advice they offer on preventing future similar accidents.
An accident has an outcome and that is when an expert is needed, but sometimes the same type of incident can end up as only near misses or unusual consequences and this is actually where the lessons are best learnt. It is often a matter of chance.
