Renowned for his expertise in English literature, educational consultancy, and sports management, Jay has held senior positions at some of the UK’s most prestigious schools, including Epsom College, Campbell College Belfast, Eton College, and Millfield School. His career is marked by a commitment to excellence, safety, and the highest standards in both academic and sporting environments.

As a member of the Institute of Expert Witnesses, Jay is called upon to provide authoritative advice in legal scenarios involving education, safeguarding, and sports-related matters. His extensive experience includes serving as Headmaster at Epsom College, where he led the school to win Independent School of the Year in 2022, and as House Master at Eton College, where he introduced and managed Rugby Sevens and oversaw the 1st XV rugby team. Jay’s leadership extends to governance roles at Harris Academy Purley and Epsom College in Malaysia, as well as inspection duties for the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

Jay has successfully advised solicitors and insurance companies in high profile cases, drawing on his understanding of educational and sporting standards, risk management, and best practice; most recently, he has been working on behalf of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) on the Schools Rugby Leadership Project and as Education Director for the Repton Family of Schools. Jay’s career reflects a lifelong dedication to advancing safety, quality, and integrity in education and sport.
