Pete Stacey has
over 40 years experience of training, coaching and instructing in outdoor
education, mountaineering and ropes courses.
He is a past
Chair of Mountain
Training United Kingdom & Ireland, and a past Chair of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors. He is
currently a Director of Mountain Training England and was for 25
years, a Course Provider for many of the climbing and walking instructor
schemes delivered by Mountain Training. He was the Professional Officer
for the British
Association of International Mountain Leaders.
He is currently
the Chief Officer for the British Activity Provider Association and is
also their Lead Inspector for inspection and accreditation schemes provided by
BAPA. He is used as an independent inspector by other similar schemes and
has developed new inspection criteria and schemes for new sectors including the
Trampoline Parks sector in the UK.
Pete acts as
the Technical Adviser to a number of high ropes course companies across
England, as well as providing support, staff training and safety advice to a
number of climbing walls. He has delivered a number of CPD workshops for
both the AMI and BAIML and has presented papers nationally and internationally
on safety management in climbing walls and accidents control and reduction.
Pete provides
expert opinion on mountaineering, rock climbing and ropes courses activities
and has acted upon instructions in both civil and criminal cases.
