Jean Wenger is a leading provider of technical advice on Children’s Play and Playground facilities within the UK and has over 30 years specific experience. 

Jean Wenger maintains his experience base, by regularly undertaking detailed assessments and inspections of play and sports facilities for large and small authorities.

 

Jean Wenger maintains his knowledge base, through his active involvement with the leading organisations involved in children’s play, including: Government departments, NGOs, Embassies, British and European Standards committees.

 

Jean Wenger is a board level adviser to the government/ Play England’s national Play Safety Forum (founding member) and assists many other play, sports and safety bodies, including the internationally respected Register of Play Inspectors International Ltd (RPII) (founding member).  Jean Wenger is qualified by examination to the highest level for playground inspections and is an RPII examiner.

 

Jean Wenger has extensively advised within his European Standards involvement throughout Europe and has additionally worked in the USA, Canada, Croatia, Hawaii, Ireland, Germany and China.

 

A designer by training, Jean Wenger as Technical Director of the National Playing Fields Association/Fields In Trust, delivered internationally recognised expertise for this influential charity and its 1200+ sites for 20+ years before moving on in 2004 to the private sector to further his objectives of improving quality provision. 

 

Through his company Active Risk Management Services Ltd www.activerms.org Jean Wenger delivers his substantial expert experience on children’s play, sport and gymnasium provision.  Through his detailed involvement with the UK’s leading laboratory (MSc,  CST) on sports and play facilities, detailed conformity and suitability assessment of new and existing product is undertaken.

 

Jean Wenger inaugurated the European Playground Standards (EN1176 & EN1177) and is a past chairman of both the European and British Standards committees. Jean Wenger actively continues with the development of these Standards as a member on the following British Standards & European Standards committees. These have responsibility for over 60 equipment and provision Standards, covering play, sports and surfacing, Jean, as Chairman of the European Standards (CEN) committee for ‘Freely Accessible Exercise Equipment’ is responsible for this new EN standard.
