James John Mattinson Pearson Cert.Ed, B.Ed, Adv.Dip.Ed., M.A., M.Ed., FPEA

 

John has more than 40 years experience teaching, advising, inspecting, lecturing and consulting in a range of physical education, recreation and sporting activities. He is a member of the Committee of the Institute of Expert Witnesses.

 

He has worked in all Educational contexts ranging from Nursery Schools to Universities and Teacher Education. In addition he has extensive senior experience in Local Authorities as well as involvement in Youth Work and Further Education.

  

In a wider context he was one of the first, of two, recipients of the prestigious Gerald Murray Award of the then Physical Education Association of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (now the Association for Physical education).

  

He has been running his own Consultancy Company for eight years and has had involvement at regional and national level in a range of educational areas including specialist advice and guidance with regard to school visits.

 

He is a former international rugby referee who has refereed worldwide. In addition he has extensive experience as a referee educator.  In 2005 he was accredited as an International Rugby Board Performance Reviewer.  He still referees and is now a member of the National Panel of Touch Judges.
